Condition Improvement Fund 2020/21 - New Guidance


Today saw the announcement of the latest round of the Condition Improvement Fund. CIF funding looks to address building issues with significant consequences that cannot be covered by the schools reserves or the Devolved Formula Capital (DFC) allocations. These include issues with poor building condition, building compliance, energy efficiency or health and safety.

The CIF 2020-2021 criteria has been updated, which has delivered some intriguing updates from last year.The new criteria will favour bids from applicants with strong governance and good financial management. Points will be reducted from Trusts that pay their executive staff over £150,000pa. There are also additional points to be earned by contributing to your project.

Eligible Non-diocesan VA (Voluntary Aided) Schools can now also apply for up to 2 projects between £20k and £4M per project. All schools, including previously registered schools, must register on the new ESFA Portal by November 29th at 12noon.

Condition Improvement Fund 2020-2021 - Key CIF Funding 2020/21 Dates:

New applicants must register to use the portal by midday on Friday 29 November 2019.

The submission deadline for all applications is midday on Friday 13 December 2019.

Applicants will be notified of the outcome in spring 2020.
